The Duchess who is a royal patron of the charity, championed its ambitious £10million fundraising appeal to build and equip a new hospice, The Nook, on a five acre plot in Framingham Earl, in Norfolk. It will replace the current one in Quidenham.

Upon her arrival at the Norfolk Showground, Kate was greeted by children from nearby Queen's Hill Primary School and then went on to meet staff, volunteers and families who are being supported by the charity.

Before going inside, the Duchess was presented with a bouquet of flowers by two schoolchildren Cerys Emeerith-Burley, whose brother is a patient with EACH, and her classmate Caitlyn Cheshire-Brazier.

Once inside, Kate listened to presentations from families who are helped by EACH, alongside 700 other guests, and met young patients including Jack Cottis and his family.
