Kate flew solo today as she arrived in the north east of England to carry out a string of engagements.
Crowds gathered at Newcastle Civic Centre as she arrived to meet with a range of people - from those who contributed to making the Olympic Games a success in Newcastle to volunteers who help make the city centre a more welcoming place for people and businesses.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore one of my favorite coats by an unamed, independent British designer. We first saw this coat in December 2011 at Sandringham. It's an elegant three-quarter length berry-coloured coat with a high neck.
At today's engagement, Kate paired the coat with a black Alexander McQueen belt (seen previously), thick black tights and her Aquatalia Rhumba boots.
The Duchess finished off her look with her Kiki McDonough citrine drop earrings.
A Note on the Dress Kate is Wearing Under her Coat
Current speculation is that Kate is wearing a burgundy Whistles 'Sofie Rae' dress ($135 from a previous season and no longer available) under her coat. The dress is described as pure silk in a warm seasonal burgundy. It has a deep v-neckline, long sleeves and a flattering defined waist. A floating midi skirt and removable belt.
