Kate Shines at London Olympic Gala Concert

Last night, Kate and William attended Our Greatest Team Rises at the Royal Albert hall in London. This was a black tie event to mark the countdown to the London 2012 Games and raise critical funds to support the competitors.

Also present were some of the 67 British athletes so far selected to compete in the Games.

Kate wowed in a bold, floor-sweeping Jenny Packham gown with a sheer back. The back of the dress really stunned. It was all sheer lace to the waist, embellished with Swarovski crystals, had a pleated detail on the back and a small bow, with tiny buttons going up to the nape of the neck. The teal dress also featured a boldly plunging neckline, jewelled waist belt and lace cap sleeves.

This ravishing dress is part of Jenny Packham's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. It first appeared on the catwalk last September in a pale green. The small changes to the design indicate that Catherine's version is custom-made. Her neckline was more demure than the catwalk gown, with more gathered fabric in the bodice and slightly higher lace at the decolletage and shoulders.

Description per the Jenny Packham FB page:
'The Duchess of Cambridge wore Jenny Packham to the Royal Albert Hall tonight. The style combines an emerald lace bodice embellished with Swarovski crystals and a pleated skirt, ribbon waisted with a crystal and flower embellishment and matching bespoke clutch bag.'

Jenny Packham also offers the 'Aspen' gown which is part of their bridal collection and brought to our attention on the Jenny Packham FB page by 'Poppy Bridal.'

The duchess rocked her £450 ($725) silver Jimmy Choo 'Vamp' heels she sported at Claridge's Hotel earlier this week.

In her hand, she held a teal co-ordinating bespoke clutch fashioned from the same brocade as the inside panel of her gown - also by Jenny Packham.

The Duchess completed her look with silver teardrop-shaped earrings, prominent thanks to an elaborate braided updo.

And instead of covering up the see-through details on her gown, she wore an elegant knotted bun, put in place by a team from the Richard Ward salon in Chelsea. This was a departure and a refreshing change from her usual style.
