Kate Recycles Emilia Wickstead Coat Dress at St. Patrick’s Day Military Parade

Today, Kate braved the rain to present sprigs of shamrock to the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. This was a special patriotic celebration at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, Hampshire.

The Duchess took her position next to the Duke as she presented shamrocks to officers and guardsmen (Wills got a sprig too). The last sprig was given to new battalion mascot, eight-month-old Irish Wolfhound, Dohmnall, who was carrying out his first public engagement.

The sprigs were worn in the front of their caps, while Kate attached one to her lapel, next to a shamrock brooch.

Kate at last years event

The Duchess recycled an emerald Emilia Wickstead coat dress (Fall/Winter 2011 Collection). This was the same green dress coat she wore to last years event . She styled the coat sans belt and again saw evidence that she got a seamstress to move the buttons to accommodate her growing bump.

Kate teamed her outfit with a black felt Lock & Co ‘Fairy Tale’ hat (seen when she visited Leicester last March), her black, suede Episode ‘Angel’ heels, black tights and her black, wool Cornelia James gloves with side bow.

The Duchess of Cambridge selected her jewelry carefully for the occasion. She wore her emerald and diamond earrings and a a golden three-leaf clover brooch (owned by the regiment and loaned out for events such as today’s. The late Queen Mother and Princess Anne have worn it.

Kate wore her hair up in an elaborate chignon.

On a side note, the Duchess has a slight mishap but handled it with grace and poise. She wedged her heel into a drain during the ceremony. Fortunately, William was on hand to aid her. Kate grabbed her prince's arm, and unfazed, she pulled herself free.
