The Cambridge's Attend a Friend's Wedding

This weekend, William and Kate attended a friend's wedding (the friend was not named) at Chelsea Old Church in west London.

After the wedding, the royal couple made their way to a waiting car flanked by seven Metropolitan police officers.

Kate looked elegant in a floor-length black lace dress by US designer Diane von Furstenberg ($900). It was the same The 'Zarita' lace gown she wore to the Royal Variety Performance last month.

On the last night in New York City, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the guests of honour at the lavish $10,000-a-head 600th anniversary event at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art

They were raising money for St Andrews University in Scotland, where they both met and fell in love as students. Proceeds will fund scholarships and bursaries for under-privileged students, as well as new sports and media facilities.

The royal couple were met on the museum's steps by an honor guard of fellow St Andrews alumni dressed in the university's traditional red gowns and officials wearing kilts. Then they were escorted to a reception in the museum's Velez Blanco patio, where they mingled with the other 450 guests.

They later dined in the Temple of Dendur, a vast room decorated with statues of Egyptian gods that was built specifically to house an Egyptian temple built just before the birth of Christ. The sandstone temple was given to the U.S. in its entirety in 1965.

The dinner featured a guest appearance by the US comedian and chat show host Seth Meyers, who gave the toast. Other guests included Princess Eugenie, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Mary-Kate Olsen, the actress turned fashion designer who is one half of the Olsen twins, and her partner Olivier Sarkozy, half-brother of the former French president.

The menu included starters of potato and leek soup, smoked haddock fishcake with crispy leeks and Scotch lamb pie, followed by a main course of mushroom-crusted tenderloin of Angus beef and cedar plank Scottish salmon.

William & Kate Celebrate British Talent in New York at Creativity is GREAT Reception

On Tuesday afternoon, William and Kate continued their whirlwind tour of New York. They attended the Creativity is GREAT reception at NeueHouse in Gramercy, Manhattan to celebrate British talent in New York.

The event focuses on the wealth of British talent in the film, fashion, music & art industries based in New York. It was held in association with the UK Government's GREAT campaign, which aims to promote the UK internationally as a place to visit, study and do business.

The couple chatted with guests including actor Sir Patrick Stewart, Glenda Bailey, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, Amanda berry, chief executive of Bafta, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, media mogul Harvey Weinstein, and his Marchesa designer wife Georgina Chapman, and author Imogen Lloyd-Webber, daughter of the musicals composer Lord Lloyd-Webber.

Then, they sat down to a luncheon which featured a selection of UK favorites.

For the second time on this trip, The Duchess of Cambridge, wore dress by maternity label Seraphine. Today, she chose the simple black turtleneck 'Vanessa' dress.
