Kate Attends Glittering Premiere and Pays Tribute to an Iconic Man

Last night, Prince William and Kate walked the red carpet at the premiere of a biopic about the anti-apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela. The glittering event was held in London's Leicester Square. Before the screening they met with the cast and crew of the movie titled 'Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.'

The Royal couple were told of Mandela's death during the screening, and emerged from the theatre after a two-minute silence was held at the end of the film.

William spoke in the foyer and said: "I just wanted to say it's extremely sad and tragic news. We were just reminded what an extraordinary and inspiring man Nelson Mandela was. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. It's very sad."

Thirty Club dinner

The Duchess shopped her closet and recycled her white, long-sleeved 'Lombard' gown by Roland Mouret (from the designers 2009 collection). The dress was last worn in May 2012 at the Thirty Club dinner at Claridge's hotel in London's Mayfair.

Finishing off her look, Kate chose all new accessories. She held a black, suede Mulberry 'Bayswater' Clutch (possibly bespoke), black, suede Prada pumps (thanks to 'What Would Kate Do' for the ID) and a chunky silver statement necklace from clothing chain Zara.

William & Kate Attend Exclusive Black Tie Dinner at Thirty Club

Last night, Kate accompanied William to a private black tie dinner hosted by the Thirty Club at Claridge's Hotel in London.

This was a members only event with some of the world's most powerful media people in attendance. The monthly event  allows key players in the industry to network and seal deals. Prince William was the guest speaker.

Kate wore a cream gown from Rouland Mouret's 2009 RM collection.  She showed off her slender figure and shapely legs in the full length, snug-fit dress with high neckline, long sleeves and a thigh-high split.

The dress is aptly called The Lombard, which the designer named in honour of the Hollywood "blonde bombshell", Carole Lombard. We first saw this dress worn by former French First Lady Carla Bruni back in in 2010, although when Bruni wore it, it was teal, not cream.

The Duchess accessorised the slinky cream gown with sparkly silver Jimmy Choo 'Vamp'  metallic sandals (£450) – showing off her maroon-coloured painted toenails - and a matching clutch.

Kate rocked a pair of chandelier-style AVA earrings by Beaut Jewellery. She wore her hair down, styled in her trademark loose curls.

Kate & William Leave for Canada

Kate & William boarded a private plane at London's Heathrow airport on Thursday. Their desination: Ottawa, Ontario, the capital of Canada, where the newlywed royals will kick off their 11-day tour of North America.

The Duchess's elegant outfit for the flight featured Canadian and French labels in a move apparently intended to please her hosts, including those in the predominantly French-speaking province of Quebec.

Kate wore a navy blue knee-length Manon dress by French designer Roland Mouret with a matching navy blazer with gold buttons by Toronto-based Smythe les Vestes
($585).

The stiletto heels on her navy Manolo Blahnik 'Calogera' court shoes caused her no problems as she climbed the stairs on to the aircraft alongside the Duke. In her hand, she held a £850 Mulberry Polly Push–lock handbag.

Kate kept her hair loose in simple waves.

Here is a close up look at the Roland Mouret dress ($935 on sale). It was available at Selfridges but looks like it's currently sold out.
