Kate Tackles Childhood Depression in a Rare Video Message

In her second video message she has recorded since joining the royal family in April 2011 (her first was for her hospice charity in April 2013), Kate has made it her mission to break down the “stigma” surrounding children's mental health.

Organized by the charity Place2Be, of which she is a Royal Patron, the Duchess has agreed to be the face of the first Children’s Mental Health Week.

She believes the “overwhelming” challenges faced by children today leave some “struggling to cope”, leading to depression, anxiety, self-harm and addiction.

Apparently, this video message was recorded last week (Tuesday, February 10, 2015) whilst the Duchess paid a private visit to the pupils and staff at Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School in Beckenham.
