The Order of the Garter service is an important day in the royal calendar when Garter knights celebrate the ancient order. The Queen is its sovereign and a number of other British and foreign royals are additional knights of the order. It honors those who have held public office, contributed to national life or served the Sovereign personally.

Kate watched the proceedings wearing a bespoke, sky blue silk coat dress by Christopher Kane. The coat dress features a single-breasted design that is belted at the waist, flattering her svelte frame and slanted front pockets.
