The first family members to visit Baby Cambridge were his grandparents Carole & Michael Middleton.

The new grandparents arrived by taxi and were escorted into the building by lead clinician, Jonathan Ramsay. When they left an hour later, Carole Middleton said the baby was "absolutely beautiful", adding: "They're both doing really well, we're so thrilled."

Prince Charles & Camilla also paid a quick visit to St. Mary's Hospital to meet their new grandson. After two days in Yorkshire, they were rushed to London by helicopter for the momentous occasion.

Upon his departure, about ten minutes later, Charles said the baby was 'marvelous' and told journalists: 'You'll see in a minute'. This could suggest that the new parents will be leaving the hospital sooner than we had thought.
